Welcome to the 2006 TLA Geocaching Challange

Cache 08: Temagami - Ferguson Mountain Micro Cache

Lat: N 47° 08.919 Long: W 080° 04.341

Short Description:

This is a micro cache located at the top of the mountain. An easy hike, but a long one. This will take you at lease an hour to hike up to, and back down. Bring water and bug dope. Oh...any your camera.

Long Description:

You are looking for a SMALL clear plastic lock and lock container. The only thing in the container is a log book (and a paper punch for our 2006 game). Please don't take the punch, it is not a regular trading item. You can do this cache over land but not easily. It will be a very long hike if you do it without a boat. Access from Camp Wanapitei or from Red Squirrel Lake road via the Kokoko Lake road. A 4 wheeler would be handy to get there from Red Squirrel lake road. I've had my 4 wheeler within 600 meters of the cache, and within 150 meters from the final hiking trail.

The easiest way will be by boat to get to this cache. There are other ways to get up the hill, and shorter ways, but the easiest way the we found is to park your boat at portage heading into Coppersand Lake which is located at N47 09.010 W80 03.997.

Please re-hide the cache well.

This cache is a traditional cache and of course open to every one to hunt and trade from.
This Cache is also part of the Temagami Lakes Association (TLA) 2006 Geocaching challange. Inside the cache there is a one of 10 special paper punches that are being used for the contest and cachers are asked to please leave the punch in the cache for the duration of this sub-game. It is clearly labeled and instructions are inside the cache.

If you'd like to participate in the game and possibly win a prize, you can pick up the official rules and the official punch cards at the TLA building at the end of the Temagami Lake Access Road or visit www.tlccnet.com/tlageo. The contest is open to everyone and there are a lot of great prizes to win. The game will take place from the beginning of June until the End of August, 2006.

Clue:

Not on the ground...it's just hanging around on top of the mountain..
