Welcome to the 2006 TLA Geocaching Challange

Cache 04: Temagami - Portage Bay

Lat: N 46° 54.453 Long: W 080° 02.037

Short Description:

This spot is in a little bay inside Portage Bay. Once again a good photo opportunity. This is a huge rock cliff with lots of little crevasse and stones. No hike required for this one.

Long Description:

You are looking for a clear plastic jar with a Blue lid. There is great boat access to this spot, but be careful entering the bay. It's a bit rocky at the narrows, then good the rest of the way in. Use your Charts!!! You will need a boat to get to this cache or wait until the water is a bit harder. The cache is only about 10 meters from the waters edge (and about 10 meters above water level).

This cache is a traditional cache and of course open to every one to hunt and trade from.

This Cache is also part of the Temagami Lakes Association (TLA) 2006 Geocaching challenge. Inside the cache there is a one of 10 special paper punches that are being used for the contest and cachers are asked to please leave the punch in the cache for the duration of this sub-game. It is clearly labeled and instructions are inside the cache.

If you'd like to participate in the game and possibly win a prize, you can pick up the official rules and the official punch cards at the TLA building at the end of the Temagami Lake Access Road or visit www.tlccnet.com/tlageo. The contest is open to everyone and there are a lot of great prizes to win. The game will take place from the beginning of June until the End of August, 2006.

Clue:

look in the rocks. Behind a big one.
